VF Engineering’s 620hp Widebody M3

No way around it this car is a monster. A combination of the Hulk and G.I. Joe stretching out of the BMW E92 M3 sheet metal skin with the power and agility to match. A haunting sight in your rear-view mirror as the 620hp wide bodied M3 may at any minute transform into a Decepicon and destroy you. As beastly as this car may look it can be driven very calmly and easily. The stock dual clutch transmission is very smooth and the KW coilover suspension offers near stock ride quality.  Seeing this car on the street could have you wondering if the US Military is looking into high-speed land attacks. While behind the wheel I was secretly hoping to find the hidden missile targeting system or at least an option for pop out machine guns behind the headlights. While weapons were left off the options list, VF Engineering did equip the car will high-end front and rear radar detectors with a covertly mounted display in front of the gear lever.  In a car that stands out like this knowing there is a speed trap ahead can really save your bacon or save you from the bacon I suppose.

Of course what we are really driving is VF Engineer’s showpiece. A rolling billboard of M3 performance taken to the most extreme, a one of a kind car, literally, this is the currently the only E92 M3 in the US with the Vorsteiner carbon fiber GTRS3 widebody kit. Vorsteiner will only produce 100 of these kits for the world market. The wheels on this car are massive with 10.5 x 20 inch in the front and 12.5 x 20 inch in the back, there is no shortage on grip.  Behind the wheels huge Brembo brakes reside just waiting to scrub off speed when needed. Pop the hood and you find the real gem in the belly of the beast. A custom intake manifold craved from a solid block of aluminum, which is also a water to air charge cooler. This piece is a work of art and tops the V8 like a 5 carat princess cut diamond. I can see the commercial now, a beautiful woman watching her boyfriend in the garage. The voice over “Show him you’ll love him for eternity, 620 times each day. Ditch the hybrid and supercharge an M3, he might even give you a foot rub.” VF Engineering Adding Boost to Marriages since 1996.

Back to the M3, Nik Saran owner of VF Engineering uses only the best proven parts, such as Vortech superchargers and GIAC software, in combination with custom designed in house pieces to assemble each kit. This car is no exception and the drivability shows it. Boosting a modest 6psi power is up 200hp over stock, which is kind of crazy if you think about it. More power than the new Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 in a car with a back seat and a real trunk, it is brilliant and I love it. Sure it is crazy looking and has a very good chance of getting you arrested, but soon the supercharger kit will be available for purchase and you can fly under the radar with supercar performance in a M3 sedan.
